Do I Still Need Legal Defense If I Believe I Was Wrongfully Charged?
Absolutely. It may be your opinion that you were wrongfully charged, but the police, and/or a State or Federal prosecutor, may have a completely different outlook on your case. After all, the police charged you with a crime, and a prosecutor is the lawyer for the State (or the United States in Federal Court).
Although a prosecutor may be polite and professional, a prosecutor is never your attorney when you are charged with a crime. They are the prosecuting agent for the government. Therefore, prosecutors are not your advocate and, without a lawyer advocating for your defense, it is unlikely a prosecutor will agree that you have been wrongfully charged.
